Seattle’s Danskin Triathlon

It’s been two years since I ran in the Seattle Danskin Triathlon and I have been looking forward to round two ever since! Today I bit the bullet and registered for this year’s event! Now I’m excited and I’m looking forward to beating my old time! And how could I not be excited? I’ll get to run, swim, and bike around a beautiful park all for a good cause! The Danskin Triathlon is an annual, women-only event that is held in eight cities across the country. Each event they host consists of a half mile swim, 12 mile bike, and three mile run.

The shorter distances make this a perfect triathlon for beginners! Even better for a beginner is Danskin’s message of ‘women empowering other women.’ Everyone at the event is super supportive, always encouraging you to do your best and helping you finish strong! Besides empowering women, the Danskin Series also supports the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Team Survivor, as well as a local food bank and women’s shelter in each of its host race cities.
